Illisserû, also called The Lighthouse (in Aujic) or Orovelai is a Nonman Mansion located in an outcropping of the Betmulla Mountains, overlooking Trantis Bay. It was founded by Siöl.
Illisserû was unusual in that its inhabitants were of a maritime inclination. "Sepil himi loi’nu muomi," the nameless poet of Six-Skins-Foldedwrites of the Illisserû: "The Sea is their Deepest Deep." The Illisseri love of the sea is the primary reason they remain at the margins of Nonman lore as inherited by the Three Seas.
During the Cûno-Inchoroi Wars, Illisserû attempted a surprise seaborne assault on Golgotterath. This was defeated at the Battle of Imogirion, with less than 100 of the Mansion's warriors surviving. Only one, Moryror, lived to see home. The Mansion recovered somewhat, economically even surpassing Siöl for a time, but was finally sacked and abandoned during the Cûno-Halaroi Wars.
After the Holy War, the ruins of Illisserû were reoccupied by the witches of the Swayal Compact, who took it as their stronghold and headquarters, renaming it "Orovelai".[1]
