The Anagogis is a branch of sorcery that turns on the resonance between meanings and concrete things.[1] It uses creative metaphors to implement sorcery. This was invented independently by humanity, a descendant of ancient shamanistic practices that potentially predate the coming of men to Earwa.
The Anagogis is generally considered inferior to the Gnosis because it works through Analogies as opposed to Abstractions: the Anagogic sorcerers can summon only an imitation of a dragon which spews out fire, while Gnostic sorcerers can summon heat itself. This invariably makes practitioners of the Gnosis far more powerful in a practical sense than those that practice the Anagogis.
The Daimos has historically been limited entirely to Anagogic sorcery, with no gnostic equivalent until (at minimum) Aspect-Emperor Anasurimbor Kellhus studied the Daimos with the grandmaster of the Scarlet Spires.
